My question is....can I have the cd and have it....and put it on my computer and it still work??? She has the cd when she got her acer computer and I just really want to know even if I could not do that, is there a way I could get it.

No.
You require an individual key for each installation.

Also ... her "Acer" DVD is most likely encoded with OEM protection ... meaning that is designed to install only her her model or series of PC.

It is Illegal to run one copy on multiple computers. You can try, but it will ask for a valid Licsense Number.

Each copy of windows has a specific registration key, so you would have to get a different registration key to be able to do it, which is to say the least illegal. :)
