Although many retail sales jobs are paid an hourly rate. Sales positions for companies like the Brick and Sleep country, and others are commission only. The brick does provide a training program and many other benefits, and they say you can make a good living, $40-70K per year. BUT very few individuals make that kind of money. Commission selling is very difficult and uncertain. You may go days without a sale. And these kind of stores are open 7 days a week, and often until 10 pm at night. So be prepared to work weekends and nights.
there is a web site that gives details and jobs available for the brick

I have not worked there

Most sales jobs in large store like the furniture store you are looking into are commission.

They describe a product’s features, demonstrate its use, or show various models and colors. For some sales jobs, particularly those involving expensive and complex items, retail salespersons need special knowledge or skills.
