I have a v ery nice area carpet that has the edge curling up in one area. It won't lay flat at these areas. It's almost like it got wet and has an undulating or wavy appearance. It causes my feet to catch on it at times. Would steaming it get this flat again. HELP???????????????????????? :)

send it out for dry cleaning. It may need it anyway. A vacuum will clean the surface but dry cleaning will help. Steaming may work but it is still dirty.

Get some good two sided carpet tape from the local Do-It-Yourself store. That will take care of it. Depending on the fiber/material makeup, steaming could melt or warp or shrink your carpet. (Alos, never iron your jeans because you are too lazy to get the ironing board out - it melts the carpet.)

steam, hairspray under rug and leave something heavy on that corner for a few days...it should keep it from curling for a while.
