The brain firstly is not a muscle. It is made up of neurons that use chemical messengers called neurotransitters eg dopamine which are sent and received between neurons. The axons (which is what neurons are made of) work electrically using sodium and potassium concentrations to initiate firing which sends an electrical signal either to muscle, skin etc in the body (efferent) or from muscle or skin etc to the CNS (afferent) to relay sensory information to the brain and so the brain can relay a message back

Eg. If you touch a hot surface, nerves in your fingers fire a electrical signal to the CNS which relays back a relevant electrical response ie to move your hand.

I hope this isn't to confusing :)

There are a few theories being tested on how memories/emotions occur, but the main thing here is the brain is not a muscle, it is nerve tissue. Huge difference between muscle tissue (that causes movement) and nerve tissue (that transports signals rapidly from one area to another).

well, the brain is not a muscle, and it uses chemicals between neurons

search up on it or read a bio book if you have interest
