You can not leave a male & female betta together. If the female is ready to breed and the male is not she will kill him. If they breed and you do not take her out he will kill her.
You can keep a male (or female) betta with guppies, but be aware that if your guppies breed the betta will eat the babies.

If you want guppies, start with guppies? Male and female bettas get along fine in a large tank. I have 4 females with 1 male in my 50 gal.along with other fish. No problems..><>:)

No, other fish usually don't eat their own kind unless they are starving but no and it would be fine if you put another in it if they don't like each other they will probably fight or bight each other Or, they'll act wierd so hope you have lots and lots of guppies!

No, they don't eat them, but they will attack them until they kill the female.
Guppies would be safe in the tank with either a male or female betta.
