I think you can find great items at consignment shops. The key is finding a shop that accepts items that are not too old and are in good condition. The only draw back is it is sort of like treasure-hunting and takes some time to find things. If you need a specific item fast, you are better off to head to a retail store and buy it. They are definitely fun to browse around in from time to time.

I buy all my kids clothing at consignment. Not goodwill or places like that, but real consignment shops. Kids cloths are too expensive and they grow so fast. Also the local consignment has coupons somtimes for 10% off total purchase or buy 2 get the 3rd for 1cent. love those!!

I feel like no matter what I say I will sound like a snob, but here goes.
I can shop at some of the higher end shops, where I know things come from people who have probably never worn the garments (tags still on) OR the garments have been drycleaned.
But uncleaned -no way. Just can't do it.

Some are better than others. I always try to find nice brand names and newer. But its a good way to spend an afternoon if you dont have much to do. Its always a scavenger hunt.

I love thrift stores. If you're willing to look you (which is part of the fun), you can find so many cool things.
