At 36 weeks, the baby may not be ready. There is no hard and fast way to determine when labor will begin.
As for losing your mucus plug, it regenerates over time, so it's loss is not necessarily a sign of labor
Although you are quite dliated, this in and of itself is not a good predictor of impending labor. Being this far dilated is an indicator that your total labor time will most likely be shorter than average.
It is a fact that sex can help to induce labor-the prostaglandins in semen help the cervix to dilate and efface but at this stage of the game, 36 weeks, it might not be advisable to tempt fate.

I think 5cm is almost or is considered active labor so it may send you into full blown labor because of the hormones and the pressure on the cervix. I would all your doctor to find out for sure.

I'm not sure, what I am sure about is that not all 36 week babies are ready to be born yet, so I suggest trying to prevent birth, I know how hard the last few weeks are, but my twins were born at 36 weeks, they both had blood sugar problems, and my boy twin didn't have a suck/swallow reflex and had to be fed from a syringe, he also ended up with a tremor disorder that started at birth.

... don't have sex if your water breaks! do you know that the mucus plug is what keeps you from getting infections? i wouldn't take ANYONES answer as true in regards to this question... ask your doctor!

i dont think you should have sex after you loose your mucus plug. go for a bumpy ride, or take some castor oil, it worked for me.

yes ..but he has to go inside of you..there is something in sperm that makes u go into labor..good luck and congrats..
