why do we fear death? although we have to die one day, may be next day or a few years later,?

i think people have fear in their mind because of lack of knowledge. in other words life after death. all of the living beings dont know this and thats the reaon for the fear.
moreover if i can say the fear of pain that people suffer from when they die.

It is the fear of the unknown. We have not been afraid of death, because we were not conscious of it. The idea of death is always stalking in our consciousness. One who gets over it, is a courageous person, indeed.

Soul, that's a good question...I believe that it's not that people are afraid of death itself because it will happen quickly. But there's the catch, what if death isn't quick, what if it's long and painful...It's the pain ppl are afraid of my friend the PAIN.
