I'm 36 weeks pregnant and i have been having hot flashes off and on for a couple of days. I've had lower back pain (sometimes SO BADLY i feel like I'm being crushed and can barely get out of bed)...

this is my 5th child... i know I'm not in labor... so I'm guessing that you'll have to wait a bit longer too(according to the symptoms).

If you back pain comes and goes and won't go away no matter what you do. It gets worse.
Yes! My labor was like that with my first child. My back pain came and went and shot down my leg.

I didn't think that I was in labor at first because everyone told me that it would be stomach cramps.Get to a hospital now, or call your midwife.

If it is not labor, it can't hurt to go get checked out anyway.

if the back pain is coming and going then you could very well be in labor, make sure your bags are ready, let anyone you need to know that you may be making a trip to the hospital, and best of luck to you!
If you live fairly close to the hospital, sit down, relax and rest until you know for sure what is going on. an early congratulations on the birth of your baby

You're getting close, but I doubt you're in labor. You should be feeling some pain (contractions) in your stomach. But if you want to play on the safe side, go to the hospital so they can check you out.

Ask this question at the hospital if you are 39 weeks pregnant.
