the local chinese buffett place where i live has i think a 55 gallon long tank. it is as wide as a 29 gal, but 1.5 times longer. the water looks like ****, and they have about a 16inch arrowana in it and 3 6-7 inch koi. i do not think they take care of the fish in there, a wile bak ther was about a 12 in koi with the arrowana, but i guess it died. and they replaced it with 3 smaller ones. does this sound bad or what?

Sure does. I have reported a restraunt to the ASPCA for just such a thing before. 2 weeks later when I went back they had a much larger tank, fewer fish in it and better filters so it must have worked.

The arrowana was likely eating the koy, of they were dying of stress.

It does suck.

Hey, I'm not sure where you live, but that is a violation of the health codes in a cafe. Call the local or state health department on them. That's gross.

I see this far too often. It is what happens when people buy fish tanks for decoration not even thinking about the fact that they are animals..and are pets.
