Okay so seriously, what's so wrong with shopping at Hot Topic and American Eagle?
Alot of people say i'm a 'poser' because i do so. I think it's really dumb! I like some A.E, but then i like some stuff at hot topic... then i like some stuff at demo.... and then i'll go to like Old Navy, rainbow or even friggen walmart. I Don't really care what people say but i just really wanna know.
Does that make me a poser or make me trying to be something i'm not???

Hmmm... well, Hot Topic, which I love, is mainly for you know, "those people" who dress that way all the time, and are goth/emo/or just in a bad mood a lot of the time. And AE, which I hate, is, well, kind of preppy. See, I won't not shop for clothes in a store just because of the store itself. (except walmart) I buy clothes that I like. As long as you buy the "midway" stuff I think its alright. You know, don't buy black pants with the straps and chains from HT, then buy pink polos and tennis skirts from AE. Especially dont go somewhere with black lipstick one day, then in cute pigtails the next...its kind of like having a sign on your back saying "I'm confused on who I am"
My point: Its not the store you shop at, its the clothes you buy

Those ppl who call you posers...are posing as morons when they tell you that...or they might actually be morons...whichever.

Of course not! Don't pay any attention to what the top person said. Being a poser is buying clothes from American Eagle or Hot Topic because you feel like you have to. Don't listen to what anyone says, buy the clothes you like.

well first of all, hot topic's fashion sense kind of clashes with the AE fashion sense. second of all the people who call you posers are posers themselves. hot topic is dominated by a bunch of mallcore kids who think they are either punk or metalheads. however a real punk is a DIY (do it yourself) person and wouldnt buy at either hot topic or AE. and the mallcore brats who call themselves metal listen to a7x and atreyu and bands like that. those bands are not metal, and never will be metal and in my experience when a mallcore kid listens to REAL metal (black sabbath, slayer, celtic frost) they run screaming in the other direction. so they are the real posers. you are just buying stuff you think is cool, and while i may disagree with your concept of cool, you are not trying to be something you aren't, so no you arent a poser. the mallcore kids, trying to be either metalheads or punks, are the real posers.

the only thing that makes you a poser is if what you are buying doesnt represent yourself. it only makes you a poser if you are buying things just to fit in. it only makes you a poser if you are buying their overpriced clothing just to impress other kids, but it isnt true to yourself.

i personally don't shop there because i think their stuff is overpriced, overrated, and tacky. as are most clothing stores in the mall. but if you like it f**k everyone else!!!

Wear what you like as long as you are not trying to be something your not. Being your self means not being a poser.

These days everyone is a poser that wears band shirts etc... just wear a flanel, listen to the good stuff and keep it real.

no it doesnt make you a poser... i mean you shop at different places, and that is your own personal style. if you were a poser, you would probably stick to only one brand and frown down upon the others...

No. Letting other peoples' opinions dictate where you shop would make you a poser. You're fine.

Hmmm, whats a poser? Well if the store sells clothes and you buy clothes... to me that means you just don't want to be naked.

I do that too. I dress in whatever the f**k I want. If people don't like it then too bad. I have my own personal style and I like to wear what I think is comfortable and what I like. If people have a problem with you wearing everything then screw them..their opinion doesn't matter. Just do your thing!
