the first couple of days of my period when it's a heavy flow, I get these huge clumps of blood that come out. Is that ok?

You need to talk to your GYN about this. For some women, it's normal. For others it can be a symptom to a problem. Call your GYN!

"Blood clots" usually arent blood at all.

When your body, once a month, senses that you're not pregnant, it sheds the uterine lining (that's what the egg attatches to), and that is your period.

In some women, the clumps are so big, and so painfull , that their gynocologist suggest that they might have Endometreosis. This is where the lining grows on other parts of the reproductive parts, not just the inside of the uterus (which is where the baby is held).
It's perrty dang painfull.

So, unless your cramps are extremely painfull (like stay home from school painfull) take some ibuprofin (doctors don't like kids taking asprin, it can mess with your stomach and cause a few other illnesses) and use a heating pad every now and then.
It should help.
Don't worry, it happens to us all!!!

Those clumps are the start of clots, and they're usually okay as long as they're no bigger than...it's either a dime or a quarter, but I'm really not remembering. It's okay to have some, though. I think most women do.

Yeah. Sorry honey. It'll take a couple of months...or years for it to be regular.

The good news is, in about 35 years...it'll stop all together.
