The Phoenix because it is a commentary of human nature- The ability to destroy one's self only to emerge again as a new creature/personality. Stronger and hopefully wiser.

Pegasus, the flying horse. He used to be the logo for Mobil oil. He's a flying horse, that's pretty special. With a name like Pegasus I'm guessing he's Greek. I like horses and birds, so I suppose you're getting the best of both worlds.
The Centaur, which is a man's torso on a horse's body is too freaky for me. He must have two sets of internal organs.
I also like the Sphinx, Greek or Egyptian, the Chinese Dragon, and the Bunyip from Australia.

Bigfoot -but i dont know if he is real, but i hope so, the indians believed in him and hundreds of people have seen him-and i doubt if everyone is lying about it,i once spoke to a man in Farmer City Illinois in 1977 who saw one near a creek on his farm, the guy was a 50 year old banjo musician and a bluegrass fanatic, and he wasnt the least bit intersted in telling the papers about it either,at the time there were several more sightings in the erea, makes you wonder, and i have alot since then.

My Favorite would have to be the Erinyes, or the Three Fates; Alecto, Megaera, and Tisiphone. From greek Mythology, these three were responsible for punishing the offenders of the most heinous crimes. For example, fratricide, or patricide; killing of one's own brother or father. These crimes were considered so vile, that no human had the right to punish such crimes. Hence, the Erinyes.

I once wrote a short book involving a dog like creature called the Barghest. It is Celtic or Irish in origin and often appears as a headless dog. Its appearance is a very ill omen portending bad luck or death. Mine was a hell hound sent by a burned witch to torment her slayers.

Medusa.
I helped cure her of her ailment and it hurt like hell.
The legend of Medusa is with me---her head full of "fire".
I'm not sure of the culture, it was probably Eve reincarnated for being tempted by the serpent and/or a curse that was inflicted-not by her choice.

Something tells me that Yoko Ono (The late, great John Lennon's wife) use to be Medusa.

Hanuman is my favorite mythological creature.
I like it because it is the symbol of strength and true devotion.
No other creature, like it, has got the status of 'God'.
It belongs to Hindu culture.
The Indian Epic Ramayana is incomplete without Hanuman.

Mine would have to be Sasquatch.
i first heard about him when i was 6 and have been interested ever since. Bigfoot reports have been mentioned in many native American legends and even spread to Asia and european legends. oh, and one thing i wan't to point out the film of him was not an admitted hoax. it is still under investigation.
