I'm a running back and i start so i would say to run hills then catch balls bullets then lobs over shoulder then vertical jumps w/then w/out weights forward jumps then if you didn't join track & feild join now run 100m, 200m to make it easy to run down the feild without worry.
lift weights like squats, leg curls, power cleans. and strech a whole lot.

most of all eat right and sleep early.
scolarship baby!!

Agility drills - anything with tires or cones.

Running drills - Sprints, of course, of varying distances. But also long distance, endurance drills. If you can't run for an hour or so, then train harder.

Catching drills - For some reason, catching bricks helps. Wrap it up in a towel, and have a friend gently toss it underhand to you. Try catching tennis balls, too, for hand-eye coordination as well as learning to catch away from the body.

Get A football and draw a ring around the tip of it with like 3 inches of space and then get someone to throw it to you have to catch the ball with your hands being in the 3 inch area. Good for control of the football

Wind Sprints
30 yard dashes x5, then x10 at the end of your workout.
whatever you do before that soley depends on your ability. if you have good hands, work on agility. if you have good agility, work on your hands.
and a little tip, the best way to work your hands, it taping them up, and catching balls without gloves. when you first start to catch footballs with gloves, it kind of lets you cheat. when you catch them bare handed/taped, it stings, but it helps you hands adjust better, and adapt to the different positions/angles. then, when its game time, strap on the gloves, and i guarantee you, u wont drop as many as you would

Speed kills, Thats good that you do long distance, you'll run forever at a reachable pace, i recommend that you introduce yourself to PLYOMETRICS and lots of 300M sprints.

Take a lot of hits, learn to hold onto the ball, and don't look phased.

you need to blindfold yourself and have some throw you the ball and after a while you are able to feel the ball and catch. you can also turn away from the quaterback and then when he says hut(throws the ball to you) you turn around and catch it fast.
