I like to laugh. It has been too long since some on tickled me. It is a connection that is purely physical and it implies that you somehow impelled the tickler to touch you. You extracted the impulse from the other. I don't know how. ( I'm just saying that it appears so, to me.)
When I look at my cats, especially if they are languishing in a sunbeam, I HAVE to stroke them. It is pleasurable to me to feel the warmth and the softness of their fur. They let me know that they like it by purring or rolling around. Gentle tickles are sweet. There is only pain if the tickler is rough and continues even if asked to stop.

That's a damn good question. Tickles are uncomfortable and they hurt. But, I still laugh every time.

This is a good question. I have wondered this myself. I believe this is a way to convey a feeling to someone else, physically, that requires no words. It can be sexual. It can be a way to "communicate" positive emotion to babies, siblings, and freinds. Have you ever tried to tickle yourself? It doen't work. It is a "positive" physical connection to anyone that recieves it.

tickling is a form of torture you know. especially when you don't like it and someone continues. there is a fine line between laughing and crying when such things happen.

I'm not sure but I'm just glad I don't fart when they tickle me.
But I hate it when people tickle me. It violates personal space and most times it just isn't appropriate.

I read this in a book I got from Chick-fa-la's kid menu.
it's like a shift in your most sensitive nerves but since the change doesn't hurt you put it out in the emotional example of laughter.......pretty weird huh?
