The problem with the Miller-Urey experiment is that little is actually known about the chemical composition of the early Earth atmosphere. The gases used in the experiment were an assumption, and probably not too accurate. The gases in the early Martian atmosphere were probably not significantly different from the early Earth. The Miller-Urey experiment has been repeated will several different modifications on gases used and concentrations, so perhaps one of those mimicked (incidentally) the early Martian atmosphere.
