He put a lot of lives in jeopardy and should pay the consequences for his role. But his "good ol pal" will pardon his sorry butt, this I have no doubt. The death penalty may be a bit severe, but life in prison would suit me.

He wasn't found guilty of treason. He was found guilty of lying under oath. That will get him a short sentence. Cheney is the one who committed treason by outing a covert CIA agent.
