The truck in question is a 1998 chevrolet s10 2wd with an auto transmission. Basically i want to take out the automatic and ut in a manual instead. Any idea how much it would cost parts wise to do that?

For people who will tell me the cost isn't worth it and so on..

*Yes i plan to keep the truck for a LONG time
*I'm not buying any truck besides a '98 s10 because i've wanted one for over 4 years and i'm not settling for anything else

Unless you plan to keep the truck for a long time, the cost to replace the auto for a manual will be more than the truck is worth. You would be better off buying a used truck with a manual transmission.

well if you dont know much about cars its going to be tough
often u can find everything you kneed to know threw google only if you know what to look for but anyways your going to need a standard transmission that fits your engine, often a junkyard is a great source for trannys. they will know most of the time if the tranny will fit with your engine or not if u can find a make that has engine tranny and everything is more or less the same take it all because if u have same fire wall as one your taking the standard tranny out it helps later on on the foot clutch system or have a look at it to get basic idea of what your looking at doing secondly your going to need to drill a hole in your centre conical about 5-6inches wide and about a ft long thats for the shifter. i suggest going to a junk yard or finding some pictures on the Internet of standard transmissions and having a look at them and see how there put together for a basic idea of how everything works

The value of the truck does not justify the change, sell your truck and buy a new one a 1998 manual model is cheaper than an automatic..........
