Hello. Music and their videos are a big component in promiscuity, and so many kids look up to these people and want to emulate them. Another thing that's been bad for our youth today is the effect upon them from the "If it feels good do it" generation. I recently heard that of the births happening these days... that 50% are born illegitimately (out of wedlock). What a bad thing to pass onto children, a thing that'll last a lifetime. Though I'm glad they didn't have abortions to cover up their illegitimacy... it's still a bad thing. Good for you and your chidlren that you are guarding their souls this way... keep it up. I've heard teenaged kids talk about things in public I would not discuss with anyone at all.

I think the media exploites hedonism in general, even some of the commercials today would not pass the sensors 20 years ago. It all started with the " how shocking can we be and can we get away with it" in the 80's.
Years ago when Howard Stern made his debut he was constantly being fined in indecency, today, he's no big deal and people have become accepting of it.
I, personally, would like to see a little more sensorship on T.V. for the kids, just my opinion.

Videos and music are just the tip of the ice burg. It is the lack of moral upbringing and lack of social skills by parents. Some of the blame falls too on the public education system for it's back woods approach to birth control. Which is don't do it, but do it carefully. Which sends the wrong message to students.
Public education is not responsible for moral education but is party if not greatly responsible for manners reinforcement and social skills.

I agree with you. I think TV is sending the wrong message to kids these days. it's not just music videos though. Things they show on almost every channel are alot more "advanced" than they were when we were kids.

I definately thing so. Whenever I watch tv all it basically is now is stuff about sex and drugs and drinking. i think that the music channels have a lot to do with it because so much of our youth today listens to music. and with ipods, who knows what they are listening to.

They don't help. I think it all about how you are raised. If the parent don't set limitations, how can you expect the child to grow up right? Now days, it's an "anything goes" society. It takes inner strength to stand up and raise your kids right.

You are a very wise mother. Keep up your vigilance, your children will thank you for it, maybe not now, but someday.
God Bless!
