Haha, is this for an essay question? because I had a similar one for an assignment. Most likely, the pharmacy practice will still very well be in use. Such as in the field of geriatrics, people are living longer and longer and there is the baby boom era. People always say that machines and robots will take over the jobs of pharmacists, but that is unrealistic. Pharmacists are the "drug experts" and their knowledge of drugs cannot be that easily taken over.

I think there will be patient specific medicines based on genetic markers. The field will be complex with medicines made right at the pharmacy. The way DNA is being manipulated now is the edge of a tidal wave that will fight diseases without hurting the patient. The job of pharmacist may well have to have an advanced degree with more science and chemistry to make these medications

I think it will be good because right now its harder to get into pharmacy school then in to medical school.my friend got in to 3medical schools but did not get in to any pharmacy school. I work/intern at a pharmacy and usually us techs do the work the pharmacist usually sit there and put stuff in the computer, talk to the doctors, and check if techs got all the right stuff. they also check stuff that we send through tubes, and usually pharmacist are the only one who can get the NARC'S. its usually easy AFTER you graduate from pharmacy school. I think the school will be hard as you know.

ahhaha are you applying to USP? If the government doesn't shape up, there will be no independant pharmacies and pharmacists will all have ulcers from people screaming about their medicare part d which we can't control. and in my pharmacy pharmacists are responsible for a lot more than putting stuff in the computer. in all honest we will have a bigger role in therapy for our patients, and hopefully will be able to prescribe.

hopefully satisfying and well-paying.
For what it is worth, the people making the same predicitons in 1982 were quite a bit off the mark.
