Didnt we all think this piece of legislation was for funding the war and giving a time table to pull out the troops? What do these "pork" issues have to do with it, and how can we take the Democrats seriously if they think adding this is oppriate?

Here are some examples of what the Democrats consider 'urgent' needs that require 'prompt action: '
-- $25 million for payments to spinach producers
-- $120 million to the shrimp industry
-- $74 million for peanut storage
-- $5 million for shellfish, oyster and clam producers

"Spinach, shrimp, peanuts and shellfish? That's not a war funding bill, that's the salad bar at Denny's."

Because the Democrats are useless sacks of doo-doo.

The mid-term elections were the Dems second chance to drive a stake through the heart of the Neo-Con controlled Republican party. And twice now they've failed. I am officially a libertarian now.

Well, most Denny's don't have a salad bar, so you're wrong in that perspective. But, the Republicans put us in the war, and the only money it should cost to pull them out is gas prices. So, the Republicans are just making a big deal out of nothing basically. We should have just dropped a nuke. But oh well. Wasting money is fun.

the simple fact is... this congress has passed less pork than any in years...

it's always funny how Republicans have a "problem" with pork... after 6 years of huge pork spending?

if you don't take Democrats seriously because of this relatively small amount of pork... then you must think Republicans are literally clowns... full face paint and big shoes, relatively...

they are going to provide him a bill, besides the shown fact that it would be one that satisfies their kook fringe. the venture is the Dems are utilising the conflict to learn political clout for 2008. they actually do not care with reference to the troops in the sector or regardless of if we win or lose. To them, each and every thing is approximately preserving power, controlling Congress and triumphing back the White domicile. 2 humorous issues to advance...Europe is assume to hate us. yet the two great international locations in Europe (Germany, France) elected leaders who overtly voiced help for Bush and usa of america. HMMMMM. besides, Congress will finally provide the investment the way Bush needs it. The Dems are purely enjoying politics.

Fact is they were put in to get people who didnt agree with the bill to vote on it because they may have wanted spinach producers to get the money.
