the food has to be something that i could eat without chewing

I had my tongue pierced and it barely swelled at all, so I could eat whatever I wanted. I do recommend lots of icy poles because it eases the swelling after the initial insult to the tongue. Water based preferably, not so much dairy. My friend had hers done and couldn't eat or talk well for two weeks so she survived on soups and whatnot. But definately cold stuff!!

When a friend of mine got hers pierced, they told her to eat very soft food like pasta and luke warm soup, things that are not too hot or cold because your tongue will be very sensitive for a few days.

Well deffinatly nothing too spicy or hott in temp... I don't really know how to help you here since I don't have one but some of my friends do and they always tell me if I ever get one never eat anything spicy or hott so yeah...I hope this helps even a little bit.

Good Luck

Plenty of ice cold drinks to prevent swelling...try milkshakes & icecream, too.
For meals, hot soup that's not too chunky, like tomato and chicken noodle.
