You're on your way out they dont want to be associated with you. It's for their own benefit.

Yeah, it's pretty normal. It depends on the kind of work you do. In my case, when I gave notice it was kind of a "oh, congratulations, you're getting out of here finally." If it's a place where you're privy to "secret" stuff, they may be avoiding you having information that you might take to your new employer. Them avoiding you is probably them feeling either jealous or betrayed. It's only two weeks though, don't pay too much attention to it.

I think you know the answer to this question. Someone who gives their two weeks notice often looks at everyone else differently. Even if you don't, this is what they are thinking. Its up to you to make the socializing "normal". Lets face it, things aren't "normal". good luck.

Yup. At my last job there was a layoff heading my way. I was the only person who was given notice. During my last days there, two managers who were never nice to me suddenly got very sweet and kind.
People do strange things when they know you are on your way out the door.

Yes it is in some places, especially small companies - you've "betrayed" them by leaving and they don't know how to act around you.
Don't be surprised if you are blamed for everything bad that happens after you've left, too (as in, "Well, Brad was supposed to do this before he left, but...") It will die down after a week or two, and then you can call and ask your favorite former coworker(s) to meet you for a drink. :)

Sure, it can be... it's also normal to get escorted off the premises by security as I was. It's also normal for them all to take you to lunch and celebrate your time with them. It all depends on your previous relationship with them, the terms of your departure, your scent, etc.

They are jealous because they don't have better jobs to go to. Next time they ignore you, just smile to yourself and say Ha, ha byatches!
