Well, we have a neighbor who *used* to mutter racist things under his breath when I was out walking our dogs.
He doesn't do that anymore, because I've almost forcibly cultivated a neighborly relationship with him.
I've also heard (from a coward in a crowd), "race betrayer".
The only thing you can do is to keep on keeping on. You love who you love. The amount, or lack, of melanin in that person's skin ought not to be the determining factor in your love.

I have not been treated unfairly personally. I am married to a man who is of mostly Japanese Herritage, and a little American, but looks Japanese. However, I do have a cousin who is married to an African American and they actually moved to another state to avoid the negative affects of gossip toward their children.
I have however, been sitting and talking with people and they begin talking about "the stupid Japs" or "half breeds" or other derogatory comments like that. I immediately speak up and tell them that it offends me. My children will be one of those "half breeds" and can't imagine someone speaking to them or about them that way! Knowing my position in the communitu that we live in, people generally apologize uickly and at the very least, watch what they say around me in the future. It may not change for everyone, but at least I don't have to hear it anymore! I am also quick to remind any of those people talking about the "stupid Japs" that they are one of the most advanced societies. I also point out to them that they are driving a Japanese car and probably watch a flat screen tv that was made in Japan. It usually shuts them up quickly!
Also, keep in mind that I live in the deep south, which is less tolerant of different cultures!

I am in an interracial relationship. My bf is Hispanic and I am white. My mom did NOT approve of my relationship with him just because he was hispanic, but of course I do not care and I am not a bit racist so I love him just the way he is. We've been going out for 2 years and we are going to get engaged soon =D And besides my mom, a lot of my friends said I was crazy and out of my mind for doing it. They were like Oh my gosh Jessie, aren't there any white guys left in the world? But of course they are racist and I am no longer their friend. I am very happy with him, he is the best boyfriend I've ever had

I am black and I am married to a puerto-Rican and I have not had no one treat me bad however, I have seen a few black men give me attitude. I have 4 beautiful children with my husband and people love to stare at me with my children because they all look spanish and people always think that I am just a babysitter..
To tell you the truth I do not care about what anyone has to say, people are miseable and misery loves company. When they see that you are happy in your situation they start to hate on you.. Pay them NO mine.. Good Luck!!!

You will always get looks. If that is unfair to you then there is your answer. Interracial dating can have it advantages too. When I dated outside of my race my friends were accepting but still made snide remarks regarding the relationship whenever they could get a chance. At least you get to know who your real friends are quickly.

I got looks from people, and sometimes I suspected that we were being treated differently, but nothing blatantly obvious.
I feel that it is so difficult to find love these days, that it makes no sense to limit your choices based on physical attributes that are beyond an individual's control.

Of course, but the more interracial relationships there are, the quicker society will get used to it.
Most people don't have a problem with them, but some people are jerks.
You gotta love who you gotta love.

Oh yeah. I've called a sell-out & have seen the stares. But I'm over it. I'll be with whomever I feel like. They can either hate it, or love it.
