being a child at heart, to me, means to be able to see the goodness in people and the world around them with unjudging eyes and heart, to be able to live free and just laugh and dance whenever the mood hits.
being immature means to not be able to handle life and it's responsibilities, both meaning people and what is required emotionally and financially.
i think one has nothing to do with the other..

Being immature is totally different! Being a child at heart is just having simple fun. Being immature is acting like a child when it's totally inappropriate. For example, purposely annoying someone to the point that it offends them and thinking it's funny.

Yes, I think the two have almost nothing to do with each other in fact.
Having a child-like heart to me means being open to learning new things, having a sense of wonder, taking delight in little ordinary everyday things, having a good sense of fun and an even better sense of humor and imagination.
Being immature is something else entirely. It usually means the person being described is selfish and self-centered, doesn't get along well with others, and often is mean or malicious, or at least highly inconsiderate.
Not the same thing at all.

Well, I have never read a rule book on what maturity is. Maturity is something that differs from person to person, and when you really analyse it, maturity is opinion only....same as etiquette.....opinions of people who have gotten together to decide how to behave. Its crap, as far as I am concerned....its all pompous bullshite. I am 53, I have never been 53 before, so how in hell do I know how a 53 year old should act. I think you should be yourself. If people dont like the way you behave....stiff shite.....its their opinion.......not fact. Just be yourself and let others decide if you are immature or a child at heart...who cares what they think. If you are not harming anyone else, then live and let live I say.

Yes, being immature is when you don't act your age as in the case of acting out. Being a child at heart is more of a person who inact in playful, funny, adventurous things as they did when they were younger and more of a character trait.
