Yes I was my hands often, and I use those Clorox wipes for my keyboard and desk area as well.

Try washing your hands as soon as you return home from being out. Using antibacterial gel (Bath and Body Werks have great scents) everytime you touch railings, shake hands, or come in contact with things outside your home. Use Lysol or Clorox wipes around the house and on your doorknobs and phones at least every 3 days. People touch them and not everyone else may have your clean habits. Remember that when you touch your mouth, nose or eyes that you can transmit cold. flu, or other germs if you do not gel and/or wash your hands. It is the most common way of transmission. Also avoid people with colds. Be Safe!

I wash my hands a lot (and just read an article that said more colds are transmitted hand to hand than from someone sneezing in your vicinity).
I also eat relatively healthily. (But don't get enough sleep -- stay up too late, on line too long...) Good diet promotes strong resistance but erratic sleep can wreak havoc with immune system.
I don't take any medication(s) unless absolutely necessary (can't remember the last time I took any antibiotics, for example), preferring to "ride out" the rare cold with plenty of bed rest and fluids.
And, finally, and perhaps most importantly, I come from sturdy stock. Hardy genes really do help!

I prefer to build a natural immunity. I wash when required but don't go overboard.
The reason so many of us become sick today is because we don't have immunity to what is out there anymore.
It's an insane vicious cycle. I wish people would get it but they get brainwashed by the TV commercials and tell you that a spray will be the answer to all your germs.
Of course that implies that we use common sense.

funny you should ask...I'm the biggest germaphobe ever! All my friends and family call me Monk. :) Just the other day I filled up my car at the station then at a fajita in the car and had a freak out attack because I realized I touched the gas pump and didn't wash my hands afterwards. It was dreadful.

Yah. I sure do.
But when I have a cold, I feel like taking it out on people. So, I've decided to sneeze on a written letter to friends that are ignoring me and then priority mail the letters out. Hopefully they will get them before the germs die.
