I want to get a guitar pack to start on.Thanks for the help.

Don't listen to the other guy. There are some good starter packs out there...personally, I really like the Epiphone Les Paul Special II pack...it's got all the stuff like a guitar, amp, picks, a case and instructional video. Basic stuff. Plus, it sounds way better than those dime-a-dozen strat knockoffs you find at Wal-Mart. The Ibanez Jam Pack is pretty cool too.

Yeah those are all good packs. You could also look into the Squier Strat packs. Those aren't too bad either for beginners.
When you are ready for lessons check out http://www.guitartricks.com It has some great video lessons and a cool forum to ask questions in. It's helped me out alot.

go to target and get just the simple starter pack... youll be very pleased with the quality. trust me
