Well Al , I have to admit I haven't had time to follow any of my sports in a long time. Played 12 years myself and will always be a die hard Blackhawk Fan. Got to practice with the 76 Blackhawks @ Ridgeland Commons in Oak Park once. Met many players like Keith Magnason. Have sticks owned and signed by Stan Makita and Bobby Hull. On my 13th birthday I got to go up to Canada with my father to Bobby's Ranch. Played up there with Bobby , and his brother , Tony and Phil Esposito were up there and I also got to play with Brett when he was younger I think we were only a couple of years apart. I was in so much awww at the time I really don't remember. Other than the Blackhawks The only team I root for now is Penguins because my grandparents are/were from there.

I wouldn't blame them as much as I would blame Bettman. They were healthy when he took over. That is a really good question. Has any long time revered hockey team ever become extinct so fast?
Now that I think about it, you are the first Blackhawk fan I have come across on this site, maybe the first mention even. Some players but not as a team. Even the Kings and Flyers seem to get some love even though they suck but it is like Chicago fans have fallen off the face of the earth. How is their attendance?? If it isn't too bad then they are not a very vocal bunch which seems odd because they used to have the loudest arena-BAR NONE.

Other than a good run in the early 90's and the cup win back in 62 (I think), the Blackhawks have never really been that great a franchise.

Are you sure the Wirtz's have done any worse than Harold Ballard and his successors? I've given up on sports almost completely.
