this information that i got from this book, or if this is just common sense and no citation is needed?

When in doubt, always cite your info. If it's a paraphrase, if you think you already knew it but you read it again somewhere else, no matter what, cite your sources. The only way citing sources can hurt, is if you do it wrong, so always do it!!

If you use any direct quotes you have to cite where you got the quote or information from.
