I don't get it...why does everyone smoke weed?

Question

Its like even parents do it sometimes too when they were younger.
It is okay or something?
I know i dont do it or never will.
But people act like its okay as long as they dont make it into a habit
Its drugs...

Please explain!

Not everyone does it. It seems like it because your associating with ppl who do it. You don't have to loose your best friend over it. I haven't smoked it in over 10yrs and very seldom did when i did smoke it. My best friend and her husband smoke it on a daily basis. She knows when I come over that I'm not interested and doesn't smoke it around me.I in return just don't go over that often and I leave chatting to phone time. We're both ok with that.
The only ppl that act like it's ok are the 1's smoking it. You'll also find that a lot of ppl that smoke weed also believes that it doesn't effect your thinking process. Even thought ppl can tell when their high.

Maybe I'm not the right person to answer this ,but I assume you are still of school age so I will try to be careful,don't blow of a friend because of this ,if it (pot) is interfering with yo.ur friends life you should help and understand her.on the other hand many people drink and this is considered ok many years ago we were told pot would make you go crazy or it would make you do harder drugs this is not true .I am sure there is some neg affect on the respiratory system but how much we don't know .This may also be something shes going through or a stage many people I know who smoked when they were in school don't smoke any more and some do people have to make up there own mind and of course you should stick to your principals and values I have smoked for a long time I own my own bussiness have two beautiful healthy boys and have been married for 12 years ,dont be to hard on your friend live and let live good luck.

I smoked through high school and i can say that i have no regrets about it at all. Many people on here will tell you that it is bad to smoke weed or that it will kill you. I am proof that it will not kill you and it will not make you dumb. I had a 3.50 GPA in high school as well as being on the baseball and football team. I have not smoked since i was 18-19 years old, and i am 29 now. You just have to be able to take care of business before you do that stuff. If you smoke then good for you, and if you don't then that's cool too.

Only a small minority of the population smokes that stuff on a regular basis, and out of those, it amounts to about 10% of the total population ( of 300,000,000 ) that will develop abusive use of this and other drugs.
Personally i haven't smoked anything since somtimes in the 90"s i think and i have also been sober for over 13 yrs as well as other drug free since 1979.

I don't, my parents as far as I know never have, but some people just rely on drugs. To relief themselves from any pain whether it's mental or physical. You know we all have some problems, some chose to go to therapy, others go to church and some go to drugs. It's unfortunate, but it helps them to not see whatever issues that they have. Talk to your friend, obviously she/he is hurting about something, you know. Some people use drugs just because everyone else is using them, a lot kids use to smoke weed when I was in H.S just because that's what everyone else was doing. Then they get addicted to it, it becomes something that they have to have.

Yeah I dont smoke weed either but yes I have found this to be a problem esp. here in Miami, try to find a guy to date who isnt either on pills or smoke weed like crazy, no arrest record or doesnt drink like a fish??
Where is he? I will marry him when I find him if hes decent & has a good job.
My dear sad to say but it is a sign of our times, maybe look to the church? Me & a close frined havnt been speaking cuz I'm also tired of her weed habits & she even smokes in closed up car & in front of her small kids. Dang there poor lungs dont even have a chance
Stick to your guns not every one is a weed head just isolate & separate yourself from it.

Not everyone does. It is OK so long as it's responsible adult use. It's WAY less harmful than the legal drugs alcohol and tobacco. There is the stigma that the government perpetuates but its propaganda is essentially lies and misinformation.

Yes, there are people who tend to over-do it and I hope you're friend isn't one of them. Most people who abuse it are basically harmless -- albeit lazy -- as compared to the angry, sloppy drunk or the edgy, irritable tobacco addict craving their fix.

The laws are wrong. It shouldn't be making criminals out of otherwise law-abiding citizens but so much for living in the "Land of the Free," hah, yeah right.

I honestly think smoking weed is like smoking cigars, either one of them are BAD however i do admit that marijuana is not as bad as other drugs.. im 18 and ive only smoked weed like 9 times. it feels good to be high, you feel relaxed. But i would never try anything like cocaine or meth . Weed its not that bad . As long as you dont let it control your life. i am a store manager and im going to school. my Regional manager , who makes about 8,000 a month smokes weed everyday . He is married and has a beautiful family .He is responsible and has a great life.. About your friend , i advise u be her friend and talk to her about how u feel about weed and ask her to never smoke it around you or ask u to smoke it with him/her . Just say it would be disrespectful to u . BUT DONT STOP BEING FRIENDS

I am in my mid 50's and have never smoked weed - so everyone does not smoke weed - smoking weed is just like any BAD habit - you need a friend to help you break the bad habit - good luck!@~

I'm with you.
I'm almost 40 years old and I still don't get it.

The ones who are my age adn still smoke it, you can pick them out of a crowd because they act like idiots. Such a waste of time and talent...
