What do you think about people who say that all Puerto Ricans and Hispanics are lazy?

It seems that everyone has been ganging up on the Hispanics lately. How do you feel?

People say this not based on the fact that they're hard working people, but they say that they milk the system. They're suppose to be milking the welfare, SS, unemployment, ect.

I don't take them seriously, how can you say a whole group of people are all the same?

I believe they do the jobs that nobody wants, which are the ones that are the most work here in the U.S. That type of blue collar work where no gratitude is given is the types of jobs that they predominately are given. I do not think they are lazy, and in many cases they flee from their own country to the United States solely for sending money back to their family. They risk life and limb to try and attain the "american dream", however unfeasible. To the people who say they are "all" lazy, you should really determine the difference between an idea and a fact. Just because you see something on Fox news, doesn't make it true. To me, this culture has chosen the Hispanics to in a way replace the discrimination placed upon African Americans and Indians previously, but they are not all lazy.

Puerto Ricans are Hispanic but that is a lie. A lot of people from every race can be lazy. But alot Hispanic people work the hard laborious jobs that other U.S. citizens don't want to work. I'm Hispanic, 1/2 Costa Rican and 1/2 Nicaraguan, and my mom works 12 hours a day and after that she has a part time job. She doesn't even need the part time job but she likes having extra money. She CHOOSES to work harder for my family, she also takes care of my abuelita who works 2 jobs also but she uses her money to send back to our family in Nicaragua. I live in a Hispanic oriented neighborhood and alot of the Latinos work their butts off. Of course there will be some lazy Hispanics but most are not.

Anyone that generalises like this about any other culture then their own are just ignorant.

For some reason every nationality has those that they think are inferior then themselves and will say things like this based on absolutely nothing.

I'm not from the USA but I don't like it when it is done here in Australia to the Aborigines, unfortunately ignorance can only be cured if people are educated otherwise this type of stereotyping will continue to the end of time.

I think that people who say all Puerto Ricans and Hispanics are lazy are idiotic morons. If they truly think that they haven't worked along side many of them. I know some who are harder working than most US born Americans. You find good and bad in any heritage..............and as far as lazy......Americans tend to be lazier than most cultures.

i haven't heard this at all, all though i haven't listened to the news lately. but, i think that if someone is ganging up it's probably because the other person has problems, not the Puerto Rican or Hispanic person necessarily.

my name maybe in spanish but i'm filipino myself and all i can say is that some people steroetype a race they don't belong. it's like for instance saying all turkish and greek are GAYS, right? some Americans are just ignorant of other people, calling asians geeks, blacks smelly, native americans alcoholics even europeans such as the greeks as GAYREEKS LOL that is so ignoramusly funny.
