ending the war in Iraq?

Chainsaw: Seriously? Having a clear-cut plan to strengthen Iraq enough to protect itself without relying on the U.S. makes us weak? Could you elaborate, please?

we have won the, ahem, *war*, but that means nothing; the way we won the war has pissed off even more would-be terrorists. You know why the pentagon and the twin towers and all that london **** happened? Cuz we've been pissing people off. If our government didnt treat third and even second world countries as inferior, manipulatable and controllable, then the terrorists would have NO REASON to be terrorists.

Think about it this way: Imagine you are an ecoterrorist but no one is commiting crimes against the enviroment. Why the hell would you continue to be an ecoterrorist?

I'll try to elaborate on what Chainsaw said because I agree with him. It's been said by some detainees and journalists that the reason Al Quiada thought it could do something bigger and get away with it when they blew the hole in the USS Cole, killed American sailors and the US did nothing about it. (Hmmm...I wonder who was President then.) They assumed we were weak and were either afraid or incapable of retaliating. Their "macho" culture expects us to be strong and to fight back when wronged. When we don't, they assume they can walk all over us--and they had until recently.

If you've got a question about this, could you contact me as I probably won't see your addition to the question? Thanks.

There are only two groups that don't want a pullout from Iraq:

1)Bush and the neocons--because they don't want to have to face how badly they screwed up

2) The terrorists--because they know that once Bush is out of the way, AMERICANS are going to really go after them--instead of wasting lives and money on occupying a country we had no reason to attack in the first place.

Absolutely. If you and I are in the ring for $1 million prize, and I know that you need to knock me out by Round Three of a 12-round bout because you are going to go somewhere else, I will just put my hands up over my head and wait for three rounds. After three rounds, I win by default, and get the prize and do whatever what I want.

Exactly the same with the War on Terror. If we announce we are leaving by August 2008, Al-Sadr will go to ground and lay low. As soon as Allied Forces are out, Al-Sadr rises back up, siezes government, bows down to Iran who brings in Al Qaeda, and we will be attacked with a vengeance.

Ending the war in Iraq and discontinuance of the support on Israel will stop the terrorists from attacking the US.

They will either way. Are you aware of the increased number of middle-eastern men getting licenses to haul hazardous material and drive school buses. Read their blogs. They even rant and make threats against other moderate Muslims who do not follow in their own radical actions. It is not just Israel they hate. And they hate us so much that they will kill their own children. Can you imagine being so twisted?

Plan or no plan, as soon as US leaves other nations alone and doesn't interfere in their affairs, no harm will come. There's just so much one can take. Any moron who wants to give me a thumb down, I'm not going any where, review the history for past decades to refresh your memory!

Everyone who has studied military tactics knows that you never tell your enemy when you are leaving the field of battle, until you have achieved total victory.
