Why do libs keep pushing this? Didn't they learn anything when HillaryCare got smacked down before?
Doctors via the AMA adamantly oppose socialist medicine.
The American people have made it abundantly clear: socialist medicine is NOT something we are prepared to tolerate in this country. Sure healthcare isn't perfect, but the remedy shouldn't be something entirely worse.
They whine about "40 million uninsured" but this is a myth. By law, hospitals cannot refuse emergency care to the indigent.

Liberals want everyone to have the same, except themselves. They do not care how far standards are lowered to attain this.

The AMA opposes it because they will have to take a cut in pay, No other reason. You are right about an ER having to take an indigent for care, but they also may bill them touusands of dollars. If they get lucky and find work, then the hospital can come after them.
A clinic waould have been much more reasonable. Especially the way ER's overcharge.

Yeah, privatized medicine's worked SO well! True, hospitals cannot refuse care to anyone, but that doesn't stop them from billing and bankrupting them! Have YOU ever been hounded by a collection agency over a medical bill? Yeah, I thought so.
Americans should hang their heads in shame that in the wealthiest country in the world, half of our citizens don't have access to affordable health care. Hard working people and their children. How many people have had to declare bankruptcy over medical bills! How much richer do pharmaceutical and medical insurance companies have to become before it's so obscene that even people like you cry, "enough!" Why are people like you so selfish that you can't want everyone to have simple coverage - preventative medicine saves an incredible amount of money. If the government just forced medical companies to provide their products and services at group rates instead of top dollar, we'd ALL be able to afford medical care.
SHAME ON YOU!

I agree with you. But at the same time the government should end income tax and most social programs so that those who are uninsured could afford healthcare.
by the way, the reason doctors are against it is because they will make less money which is understandable.

You don’t really know anything about this other than what you have been told to think, do you?
Canadians and western Europeans are more satisfied with their health coverage than are Americans - probably because their systems are equal to or superior to ours.
If nothing else, the fact that Canadians have longer life expectancies and lower infant mortality than Americans certainly suggests that they are receiving better overall healthcare.

Well the first part of you name is right.
Workers and others of conscience resent sending their children to fight and die in illegal wars for the profit of the wealthy owning class. Try making ends meet seven days per week, working at two or three jobs, in harsh working conditions while loved ones are sent to war, leaving those behind struggling to pay the bills without healthcare and maybe you, too, would grumble.
A livable wage, universal health insurance, quality education, taking care of veterans and no more wars of choice nor for profit are just a few of the not so small but very important worker rights, that would help build confidence and trust in the Democratic Party that professes to be of, for and by the working class.
That's why you will find Progressives and union activists fighting for livable wage contracts and universal health care. That's why articles of impeachment having been drawn up against George W. Bush for his crimes against humanity await a courageous introduction in the House of Representatives.
The Democratic Party contains many tepid progressives, made of "spineless fiber"...an amazing amalgam of co-opted politicians who long ago abandoned their base. Democrats are soft and pliant, Bush-lite, desirous of appeasing their fascist neo-con brethren. They continue supporting yet another illegal war, so strong in that support that their ethics and morality crumbles. . .even as they profess the moral high ground.
And they spend more on war, again -- because standing for their twisted "patriotic" principles makes their hands bloody -- instead of ending the war and washing them clean.

I wouldn't know; I haven't heard anyone's plan for how it would work and I tend to try to reserve judgment on things like this until people have presented plans.

Are you saying you are against basic universal health care for everyone. With an option not to participate?
How can your party claim to be "pro-life" yet not care about the living?
