It is funny but I have noticed that in the name of political correctness a lot of issues are being silenced. Granted some of them are unpleasant and even insulting but they are still protected by free speech. I'm insulted when people burn American flags, but that is suppossedly protected speech by implication. Yet when someone speaks in favor of good morals, then suddenly people are calling them names, threatening to fire them and calling it hate speech. If you ask me the "politically correct" are the ones really using hate speech with their name calling and labelling.

Many people have a very poor understanding of the issues, such as free speech, that our country was founded upon or that are contained in the Bill of Rights, and sadly those who are most ignorant are often those who claim to be the most patriotic and who most condemn anyone who disagress with them.

I think the bottom line is that the country has become extremely polarized, and polarization around the world is promoted by the policies of the current administration, so basically people's reaction is just to hate anyone who disagrees with them. It is sad. It didn't used to be that way.

I think the term politically correct was meant to ease the severity of name callers!
The constitution protects people with freedom of speech and freedom of expression, being P.C. just allows you to speak your mind but in a way that will not TOTALLY offend or unnerve while trying to get your point across to others.
I do think that people have taken the whole term too far. We have to be P.C. about EVERY freakin' thing we say anymore or get sued, and that is just NUTS!!!
Then again, or court system allows it all!!!

I concur. I think political correctness is a bunch of crap. Thank You Dems and Liberals!!! I think politcal correctness is a way to protect people from having to hear the truth. Apparently there are lots of people who can't handle the truth.
