Hi. They check for p2p software then get a warrant. Sux, but that is what they do, and they have deep pockets to pay lawyers. They even sue the parents of kids who download. Then the kids if they lose. I dislike the RIAA for this.

All the other answers are possibilities, but I know for a fact that they seed torrents, then register the connecting IP addresses. From there it's pretty easy.

You may have it on your shared documents. make another folder for it and dump it in the new folder... unless you have a program like itunes, Napster, or yahoo music jukebox and you are downloading them down through those programs.
