check newspapers. but the best way to do it is to take a walk in the area. most available flats / studio / room for rent would have signs indicating it's vacancy along with the contact details. look at the signs in the lampposts as well.

convenience store in Manila that lists houses, condos, etc.. for
rent. It's the best place to look for rental properties online without
looking at inflated prices that are mostly listed for foreigners.
