I wash first too. You never know the condition of the person who tried them on or the person who bought the item and took it home with them for even greater exposure to whatever.

It depends on what it is. If it's pre-packaged undies or socks, I'll wear them once before washing.
Come to think of it, there have been very few articles of any kind of clothing that I've felt needed washing before wearing. But towels and bed linens always go through the machine first!

Depends what it is and where i bought it. Sometimes I buy clothes to go out in and change into them less than an hour after buying them so i don't get time to wash them.

I wash all new clothes except for jeans, because usually i need to wear those right away because I am in dire need of them...
