South Dakotans, in general, are no more racist than any other state. Where did this question come from? South Dakota is more diverse than one may think. There is a large Native American population and many immigrants from Latin America and Asia now call South Dakota home, especially in the larger cities. Sioux Falls in particular is growing in diversity, yet there is no evidence of racial tension.
By the way, South Dakota is considered to have one of the greatest quality of life ratings given its business friendly economy, lack of pollution, and great people. The climate really is not bad either, unless you are a complete wimp and can't handle the occasional blizzard!

I think with race it's a toss up I don't think it's more than any other state, but when it comes to being rude, South Dakota takes the cake hands down!!

The northern plains have the coldest winters in the US (along with the northernmost parts of Alaska). Only 700,000 people live in the entire state. It's not a place people are rushing to.

Why would the people in South Dakota be racist? They are all the same race. Only white people live in South Dakota.
The Black Hills are a sightseeing attraction with Mount Rushmore being there.
It is an extremely cold state without a lot of people - because it is so cold.

It really depends on the people. They aren't particularly racist, though. I think you would enjoy living there. It really depends on the town and who you hang around.

it is a very "plain" state. the whole state is boring, outside of the southwest corner where the black hills and badlands are. That section near rapid city is interesting, but there's not much out there otherwise. The enormous Sturgis biker rally is out there. there are poor native american reservatios. Pierre, the capital, is very boring and small. Another thing to consider is that you are a very long ways away from any place else that is fun or metropolitan. Weather is not good, and there are literally more cattle than people. One good thing, its cheap. And if you are a white cowboy, you will make friends fast!
