Our pasts stay with us until we die.
Many of us are haunted by the past--choice we made or sometimes just bad things that happened to us through no fault of our own.
Can a former prostitute break from her past lifestyle and the negative behaviors associated with it? Absolutely. Will they ever be the person they were before that period in their life? No.
Some people are able to learn from the darkness in their past and become stronger people. Some, like myself, are haunted and in constant danger of being consumed by it.

They are going through a very hard time in their lives, just like an alcoholic, gambler, or drug addicts do. Unfortunately, society looks at prostitutes as the worst crime possible. The double standard also kicks in here. If a man had sex with the same amount of people that a prostitute has, he's a swinging bachelor, but a woman is considered a ****. And is labeled for life.

OK, listen.
Do you think that person really WANTED to be a hooker? Whatever reason they had for being a prostitute, it's a terrible thing and you should try not to dwell on it.
Being a prostitute would maybe make you see the world differently, but you're still the same person underneath.
Remember they are still a person, but they've done something they regret. Give them a chance, it's the least they deserve.

Tough one to answer: I think it changes your character permanently, especially for female prostitutes, as women tend to attach emotional feelings to sex more than men.
I used to answer the phones lines for The Samaritans, and we'd get strange calls form strange people. I remember one woman who rang up and said that she'd been a prostitute as a young girl in Manchester, but was now married with kids. She was so ashamed, she kept this hidden from her husband but was living in fear of him finding out. So, I guess you could say it had a permanent effect on her.
Then again, there are other women who seem to be OK with that, and who view it as a "profession". Maybe they've just hardened themselves against questions about morality and are just desperate to make a living any way they can. I've never really known anyone who has been a prostitute, so can only answer from my experience with the woman whom I listened to on the phone. She had changed her lifestyle but was still haunted by her past.

I think people can change from almost any past, especially a prostitute because many times this activity was a matter of survival for the person. If their basic needs were being met they may not have engaged in this behavior.

Sure you can change but sometimes your past come back to haunt you when you finally meet Mr. Right. Another thing is some times it is not OK! to tell everyone you meet about the skeleton in your closet, it also can come back to bite you when the person gets mad at you .

I do think of human beings can replace, and positively one of my in demand strains from a song grew to become into sung via Smoky Robinson, "human beings can replace. They continuously do. have not they observed the diversities in you?" So, specific. i understand I even have replaced in specific techniques- some for the extra advantageous and a few not so stable. that's as much as you to settle on in case you're able to need to grant this individual yet another risk. i'm undecided what your dating entailed, yet perhaps you're actually not waiting for some thing AS severe. perhaps you may slowly replace into friends returned -particularly of a lover? perhaps that's extra if time, besides the shown fact that it actual does not would desire to be.

You can totally break from it BUT what you've observed and learned from it is much harder to shake. Beliefs from those experiences can be challenged and can change, it takes time. But some may not.

I believe they can break with their past. I think it would take some therapy and support from a loved one or family. And having God in their life would also really help.
