I own a 99 concorde and today the oil light started to flicker only when stopped and when in idle ........after searching this sight it is probably the pump.....i am going to take it in on Monday but i am wondering around how much it would cost to replace the pump should that be the problem......the car is running fine and normal aside from the flickering....

They call that an idiot light, because it show no oil pressure and only comes on when you oil pressure is dangerously low. Probably just low on oil, oil pump, i doubt it.

first check the oil level. fill it if it is low, and then see if the light comes on. if you have 2.7L engine and you hear noise and you have the oil light still flickering, take it somewhere and trade it in, those engines were junk and they more than likely have to be replaced.

If you were low on oil it would flicker at highway speeds. You oil filter could be dirty and plugged or you have too light of or synthetic oil.
