I'm not pregnant, but I've always been interested in names and want to have a shortlist for when I do have kids.

I think Lucinda is very pretty, but is it too old-fashioned?
What comes to mind when you hear it?
Do you know anyone with this name?

Thanks!

A red-haired woman called Lucinda? Sorry, I don't know who you mean. I live in Australia!

I think Lucinda is a beautiful name. I sounds playful yet proper. When I think of the name Lucinda I think of a fairy or flowers. Personally I love old fashioned names. They remind me of a time when people weren't so concerned about technology and nuclear wheapons. They just live there lives to the fullest.

I love the name Lucinda! It's gorgeous, and timeless. It can not be dated to a certain era, much as Jennifer is dated to the 70s and 80s.

It also had plenty of nickname potential; Lucy, Cinda, Cindy etc.

I really like the combinations:
Lucinda Grace
Lucinda Violet
Lucinda Charlotte
Lucinda Emmeline
Lucinda Elisabeth
Lucinda Madeline
Lucinda Mavis
Lucinda Katherine
Lucinda Josephine
Lucinda Noelle
Lucinda Phoebe
Lucinda Marie
Lucinda Miriam

I agree with the thought that Lucinda is very old fashioned (in the US). There was a Randy Newman song with that name which was not at all complimentary, and that is what I think of when I hear the name. Many women in the Philippines are named Lucinda, but then they all go by nicknames, not given names.

They're referring to Lucy from I Love Lucy -- the famous redhead.

My sister's name is Lucy, and she happens to have red hair. She likes to joke that her name is Lucinda, but that's just it. A joke.

Stick to Lucy, she'll appreciate it later. You can allways use Lucinda as her nickname --- make it a special pet name between you and her.

Lucy's an awesome name. It's not that common, but no one does a double take when they hear it.

Congratulations! Good luck!

Lucinda is awful!!! It's very old fashion. Lucy is old fashion as well but it's cuter than Lucinda.

I know this isn't a name you have chosen but the cutest girls names I have ever heard is Katelyn Rose & Katie Belle.

I also live in Australia. I think the name Lucy is nicer rather than Lucinda. Lucia is a very pretty name which can have the nickname "Lucy"
Lucia can be pronounced (Loo-see-ah) or (Loo-chee-ah)
I prefer the 1st pronounciation

Lucia.

Old fashion names are pretty popular right now. The name is fine, but it's not my favorite "Luce" name. I like Lucianna or Lucia with nickname Lucy.

That is my first cousin's name. She was named after our grandmother which her name was Lucy.
I have always liked the name. I do think that it is an old fashioned name because you never hear it.
My cousin though is 23 years old.
