A long time best friend of mine, fell in love with me and never told me. When i got married, it tore him appart, so to try and hide it he got married and it ended misserabley. I've been married for 4 years now, and now he says we can't be best friends, because it hurts him to much to not be with me. Is there something I can do to keep his friendship? We've been through to much, to stop being friends now.

OUCH! Thats a tough one.
I'm afraid he might be right, and he is being brutally honest with you as well as himself. I dont think a complete cut in ties is a good thing but some occasional phone contact wouldnt hurt.
The thing you need to remember is .....if you begin contacting more than usual, or when you have the normal marital problems that crop up from time to time, HE WILL BE THE LAST PERSON you want to call. Leaning on this guy for marital problems would send him the wrong message.
Be sensitive to his feelings, as I know you are or you wouldnt be asking this question, just try to think ahead and beware of sending out any false signals unintentionally.
It wouldnt hurt to try and fix this guy up with someone either...just a thought.

Well you know I have had alot of friends in that situation. It hurts them, but you know what could you do? Tell your friend that he's not making the right choice, and if he loved you before you got married he should have said something. It's not your fault he's doing this.

Well first of all yu'll have to decide which one you love more?are you happy with you husband?But if you just dont feel the more of a friendship love for him then just let him be because if he can't accept it then he can't accept it.
