I plan on transferring to a UC after two years of cc (to major in Chemistry), but is it a good idea to get an associates degree in Physical Sciences (Chemistry)?

I was told that it is best to major in Biology or Chemistry if you want to become a Pharmacist... oh and about credits transferring, they do. My local CC works on a program with all the UCs so that students can transfer in their junior year.

I know that it is not "important" I don't care. Just answer the question.

I'm a pharmacy major now and there is a lot of chemistry involved. I would first try to find the list of courses that you will need to take at UC and then see if the credits are transferrable. Even if they are not, I would try to take to take those classes so that they will be easy for you to breeze by when you get there and also find out what core classes that you need to take there. They will most likely take core classes and that would be goo too so that you wont have as heavy of a load of courses during your first few semesters.

Once you transfer to a 4 year college, what (if anything) you majored in at your 2 year college becomes pretty much irrelevant to anyone. What counts is what courses you take and how well you do. Whether you actually complete a 2 year "major" is just not important in the process of becoming a pharmacist.

i would suggest biochemistry, just because it deals with both biology and chemistry. To be a pharmacist's you would be taking a lot of biology classes and a lot of chemistry classes so might as well as start now. I would however just to make sure call up the school and make sure because they change policies or you might have to take CLAST or some other test for them to count your credits.
