I know that in the past, dreams have defiently been omens of future events like Joseph in the Bible when he interprets Pharoah's dreams or King Nebecharezar dreams.

yes. quite a few times, i saw this pattern in my dream and days/months/years after that, i see the same pattern in the weirdest places. also, i had a dream where i was in a restaurant and there were these weird tables and there was this writing on the ceiling that i couldnt make out. a year after that, i took a vacation to japan and went to a restaurant. i soon realized that i had dreamt about that same place. on the ceiling was some chinese writing. no wonder i couldnt read it.
