Well every city has codes about how close houses are to each other and how tall they can get. I doubt you can stop them from adding another story, but if their building plans result in the house encroaching on the easement then yes you can stop that.
Your right to privacy is called quite enjoyment. However according to the law I doubt you could make the legal arguement stick based off they can see in your backyard. I can see in my neighbors backyard across a golf course.

You can check with the building codes in your area to see what your options may be. You may also want to try to work with your neighbor as to placement of his windows, is it possible to ask for no windows on your yard side? Either way, a living fence is a good idea.

It's possible. If you live in a Municipality, (City) or a Subdivision, there should be guide lines in place such as building lines or set-backs. The municipality I work for has 5' to 15' foot set backs. I would also see if he is building in any easements. Most people don't realize they have an easement on there property and that they have to get special permission to build on it. That's about all I have for you. Hope one of these helps.

you can do whatever you want on your property to a point within codes. Why are you worried about people seeing your backyard? it should be something to show off with all the plants and nice yard. If you are having a bar-b-cue let them smell it and see it, they will be jealous.

Unless it is written in a persons Contract to say differently, all of us own the air space above our homes. As long as your neighbor is over his "own" property he can do as he wishes. Of course he does have to have a Building permit.

he's on his own property. if the neighborhood has no rules regarding additions then sorry but your'e out of luck. however depending on what state you're in, you and other neighbors withing a certain distance may have to approve of the addition. if you haven't gotten a letter in the mail about it, then there's probably no law regarding it.

You could ring your local council to find out if you can appeal any planning permits that they apply for.
