Actually the other planets do have water. Recently researchers found evidence of enough frozen water at the south pole of Mars to blanket the entire planet in more than 30 feet of water if everything thawed out.

Also, there have been recent reports of frozen water being found on the moon.

Hope that helps. :)

Other plants do contain water so to speak. Mars and Uranus for example both have large amounts of frozen water on them.

However, Earth happens to be at a distance from the sun that allows water to exsist in a liquid state. The other planets are either too far away from the Sun (Mar and beyond) for it to exsist in a liquid state, or too close (Mercury and Venus) for it to "appear" at all so to speak, it simply vaporizes.

philosophically? thats like asking why are we alive? what is the meaning of life? why is there life on this planet? there are so many questions we don't know the answer to, and quite frankly why we have water and other planets do NOT is one of them.

Mars and Venus have head liquid water - based on their surface structure (river canyons and such). Mars still has ice, along with several Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune's satellites.

Pluto has ice sheet cover itself.
