Im Not a Avid Metallica fan, but I do like a few of there songs, and Im currious to know which song of there is the darkest (meaning which song has the darkest or harsh reality of lyrics) I think it has to be One becuase the opening sets the tone and mood for the whole song and that it kinda scares me to hear it.

Lets see......Blackend discusses the death of all life on this planet due to human pollution.
Harvester of sorrow is about abortion
eye of the beholder is about how "we people" see things differently than others. Truths to you are lies to me!
Of wolf and man is about native americans shape shifting into wolves
Ride the lightning is about people being killed by the government weather guilty or not.
I'll tell you.......there are too many to list. But you have to be a hard core fan for years to "get" all of their songs.
Even after all these years I still get a rush off of some songs.....but you have to understand them to get that rush, you also have to agree with what they say

I would have to say "one". It's such a moving piece of music. It kind of chills me to hear it and makes me visualize all kinds of suffering and pain from war. After seeing the video, it's even darker.

Definitely "One" is the best, but if you need some others, try "Welcome Home (Sanitarium)","Call of Ktulu","Enter Sandman","The Unforgiven", and "The Unforgiven 2".
