with a knife and open the door to talk to me while on the toilet...shouldn't the grunting and the fumes cue them in that this "personal time"?

A better question...how did the children learn to pick the lock in the first place?!? But, you have my pity...maybe you should cue them in that you can hear them just as well through the door, without them having to open it....

Apparently, the fumes aren't enopugh of a deterrent. You need to start actually punishing them for invading your throne room.

When you become a mother all privacy is out the window until they are out of the house. I cannot even take a shower without an interruption.

Sit each child down and say"the next one of you who interrupts me while im in the bathroom will get a nasty spanking!"

If that doesnt do it,redden that kids azz.

The're shouldnt be a 2nd occurance after that.

You are kidding right? oh boy do you have problems....

On the inside of your bathroom door, up high, put in one of those slide bolt locks...that'll cure this. Tell them to put their talking in writing and slide it under the door!!

Your the parent...punish them. I have 4 sons that may try that ONCE. But never a second time.

They are just kids. They do what kids do best, and that's 1)eating and 2)getting into trouble.

don't worry -- when they are older you will wish they wanted to be with you so much. try to enjoy the fact they are seeking you.
in hindsight it's wonderful (and terrible in the moment)
