It has more to do with the fact that they're making a decent sized hole in your navel. The first time I had mine done, I thought I was going to be sick. But the second and third times didn't hurt as badly (I had to take it out.) It might feel bruised for a week or so. It takes about a year to heal completely. You'll need to clean it with antibacterial soap and soak it a couple times a day to make sure it doesn't get infected or that your skin doesn't grow up around it, but whoever does your piercing should be able to give you all the proper aftercare information, or you probably shouldn't be going to them. Also, by children, I'm assuming you mean minors? I don't know of very many places around here that will pierce someone under 18.

noo... the nerves are the same no matter what. My two friends had it done within a week of eachother.. both fainted. One fainted while standing up and fell to the floor.. the other fainted on the table. It had nothing to do with size.. ones large, ones small. Just your tolerance level.

I m not sure about all of that. I m skinny and mine didnt hurt at all, my sil is heavy and she said it didnt hurt at all either. I think it depends on your tolerence of pain.

No your size has nothing to do with it, just depends on your pain tolerance.
