On the program I have on my computer (Aya), the board is marked 1-19 across the top left to right, and 1-19 down from the top. I think that sometimes the columns are marked A-S.

A kifu is an image if the board and the stones. The stones are numbered in the order in which they were played. Sometimes a kifu gives other details such as the time when the moves were made.

not sure what Kifu is, but I am quite good/experienced with Go. (i have bene playing for 5 years)
you can record games of Go on some graph paper.. or you can actually buy a program, and print out the board.
one program that can do this is Many Faces of Go
or you can download cGoban (www.gokgs.com)---great sgf editor for Go...
if you have anymore questions about Go, feel free to message me

Online I make a point of usually playing on those sites that will automatically make a record for me (IGS, KGS and Dragon). There is some softward that can be downloaded for PDAs that will allow you to make a game record (sorry I don't have a link). You could also print a grid from whatever game editor you use and draw on that. Some people also bring in record sheets to tournaments. Some of the vendors sell them as well.
